Prof. Dr. Christiane Stengel

Christiane Stengel studied veterinary medicine at the Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover, Germany.
After gaining her Veterinary degree in 1997, she started work as an assistant doctor at the small animal internal medicine clinic of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Here she also did her doctoral thesis on treatment of FIV in naturally infected cats to gain her degree as Dr. med. vet.
Christiane then became employed as a senior clinician and lecturer at the small animal internal medicine clinic in Munich from 2000 to 2002.
In 2002 she started her Residency in small animal internal medicine in Munich and at Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the University of Georgia, USA which she finished at the end of 2004.
From 2005 to the beginning of 2020 Christiane was employed as an internal medicine specialist and was the head of the internal medicine service at the Tierklinik Hofheim, the largest private small animal clinic in Germany.
In May 2020 she became self-employed and founded the telemedicine service zweitmeinung-tierarzt.de which she owns and runs together with other Diplomats.
Christiane is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine-Companion Animals and EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine and a German Specialist (Fachtierarzt) for Small Animal Internal Medicine and also has expertise in diagnostic imaging, including certificate for CT. Christiane has given lectures and seminars in a lot of European countries and several countries around the world. The topics encompass the whole range of internal medicine topics from gastroenterology, nephrology, endocrinology, respiratory medicine and lymphoreticular diseases and also diagnostic imaging.
